Employer:
17th Biennale of Sydney
Position:
Website coordinator
When and when:
Sydney, now
Apply:
Email Tehmi Sukhla, Marketing and Sponsorship Manager c/- Clare Flanagan at art@biennaleofsydney.com.au by Tues Mar 16, 5pm.
There was no internet when the first Biennale of Sydney (BoS) launched 37 years ago. Promotion was confined to the daily papers and a very intensive flyering process. How things have changed. In its 17th year, Sydney's largest art event needs someone to take command of a computer mainframe.
If you don't like computers then please do not apply for this position. As website coordinator you will look after all BoS online content creation, website and digital management. You must also troubleshoot basic technical problems, access web-based software support and deal with file transfer protocols. If you can do all that then here's the clincher: can you work as part of a team? This is because there will be hosting providers, designers, marketing and sponsorship managers asking you questions. There also might be artists around and artists generally require a lot of attention. So if you are a web genius but don't like people then this job ain't for you.

FourThousand is a subcultural guide to Brisbane, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Brisbane writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence FourThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
