This life long journey through the cosmos influences some more deeply than others, and Dreamland is one of those films that pushes the conscious envelope to the brink of self-induced singularity. This is not a film for the faint at heart. The content of this existential, extra-terrestrial mood piece provides the audience with a healthy dose of contemplation.

Set in the barren landscapes of the American West, the film follows Dan Freeman coming to grips with his place in the universe. Having built a career around order Freeman soon comes to realise the facades of control and for the first time gains a glimpse of a larger picture. Cinematic in every sense, the director, Ivan Sen, is quick to leave his mark on what is an impressive examination of reality.
