"Oh Harry look, there's a DIY Festival on this weekend. Maybe we could pop in there on our way out to IKEA to get some advice on our new walk-in-wardrobe and back patio?"

Believe it or not Mrs Robinson, the concept of Do It Yourself stretches far beyond the televised realm of home improvements and decoration!

In its most incredible form, DIY culture is about people getting together, skill sharing, showing off unique talents, building community, kick starting new projects and sharing well-earned knowledge.

Starting today, the Live & Let DIY Festival is three amazing days full of workshops, stalls, bands, performances, screenings, bikes, vegan food, soap-making, cross-stitching, car-fixing, records, stencilling, homebrewing, plumbing, diy power-tools, diy tattoos, sustainability, a zine fair, and something called 'Apocalypse WOW!'.

All in all, it's pretty much the best thing happening in Brisbane this weekend. See you there for shizzle.
