When I was in grade seven I read Babysitters books and the only musical interest I had, other than attempting to learn the tabs to Bush's ‘Glycerine' was the mega crush I had on Taylor Hanson. Indigo is much cooler. She's been playing violin since she was four years old and fronts local band Danger Bunnies, she's more into PJ Harvey and Gwen Stefani and dreams of playing the Big Day Out someday. FourThousand gets the after school special on becoming a Danger Bunny...

When did the Danger Bunnies form?

The four original bunnies formed in grade five, which was 2006. I was playing guitar, Zoe was playing keyboard, Paris wanted to learn the drums and Emily was learning bass guitar. We all really wanted to be in a band, so we decided to became one. Now we also have Bunya on guitar, he's little Boy Bunny.

I hear you have all a special bunny nickname?

(laughs) Yes, I'm Vogue Bunny, Zoe is Marshmallow Bunny, Paris is Hyper Bunny, Emily is Splitz Bunny and Bunya, well he's just Boy Bunny.

So you guys have Valley Fiesta coming up this weekend, but you've already played a few shows already: school fetes, 2High Festival, GoMA, The Ekka and now Fiesta, this must be a big gig for you guys?

Fiesta is probably the biggest gig we've played at, it's so exciting.

How long have you been playing guitar for?

I've been playing for 3 years

And your in grade 7, how old does that make you?

I'm 12

Who inspires you, where do your influences come from?

My influence with the lyrics come from my music teacher, Emma Dean, she gives me inspiration, listening to her CDs and everything, she's like my role model.

Who are your favourite bands?

PJ Harvey and we all really like Gwen Stefani, she is really cool and No Doubt.

So you're into nineties indie-rock?

Yep, and Bunya loves Nirvana

Does being in a band make you more popular at school?

I don't think so. (Giggles)

Where do you see yourself in a few years time? What does the future hold for the Danger Bunnies?

We're still all going to be really interested in music, we'll go ahead for a few more years and we really want to onto bigger gigs like the Woodford Folk Festival, and we all really want to play at the Big Day Out one day...

But this Saturday, you can catch this rare breed at Valley Fiesta
