Adelaide Street has changed a lot in recent years.
For one, there's that cavernous new King George Square bus station that seemed to materialise out of nowhere; while the other end is a growing hub of high-end fashion outlets and swish shopping centres. One place that has stood its ground, however, is our little neighbourhood friend Princess Polly.
As its name would suggest, this sweet little store is chocked full of pretty, quirky femme fashions and accessories. Walk into their friendly hot-pink world and browse through the range of cute tops and dresses, lovingly-crafted jewellery, frilly panties, shoes, sunglasses and knick-knacks. In fitting with their mission to spread "love, peace and happiness", there is at least peace in finding that their goods don't cost you the earth.
And with Miss Polly doing her bit for the environment too (check out their website for some climate-saving tips), shopping at Princess Polly needn't cost the rest of us the earth, either.
