If there was one Brisbane shop I could choose to spend the rest of my life in, it would be - without a doubt - Nesting Bird. (Sorry Maiocchi, you know that I love you, but you're just a bit too small). Sitting high above the world in its stately refurbed colonial decked out with pot plants, birdcages, and all things delectably-dangly, Nesting Bird has everything I need for a glamorous future of illegal boutique squatting... Divine lights, mirrors and home wares; beds scattered irresistibly in designer cushions and pillows; cuter-than-cute handmade softies; accessories so lovely I might die. And they even stock soap and underpants!
And just when you're thinking it can't get any better, there's a whole other "playroom" full of children's clothes, goodies and vintage-inspired toys - in case, you know, I decide I want to raise a small family there. (Owls! Babushka dolls! Robots! Spinning tops!... I think I'm pregnant already).
Best of all, it all sits right above Brisbane's other cutiepie-in-residence, Miss Mouse!
Oh my, what a wonderful life we'll have...
