Miss Mouse
It's amazing what you can find in places you least expect. Wandering through the back streets of Woolloongabba recently - past the endless road works, the drunken sports fans, the yuppie wine bars, the deserted warehouses - I was both surprised and delighted to come across a little treasure of a shop named Miss Mouse.
Like a moth to a flame I was instantly drawn in by the soft lights, the gorgeous fashions, the touches of glamour from decades past. Yes, Miss Mouse is a little temptress of a place: tastefully designed, with a stunning mix of contemporary fashion and vintage delights, set against a beautiful combination of white wallpaper meets authentic brickwork. This is the little-boutique-that-could at its best.
But don't be fooled. While she may be sweet and pretty, Miss Mouse is certainly no wallflower. As her front window cheekily declares: 'It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring, he bumped his head when he got into bed and couldn't get up in the morning... So his clever wife saw this as a great opportunity to nick off with his Platinum Amex down to Miss Mouse and stock up...'
