It's my birthday today. (Although today is Wednesday, and you're all reading this tomorrow, so technically you missed it). No big deal. Birthdays always seem to suck. Growing up and all - it's really not for me. But since you didn't get me a present (no, not even a card), I want you to answer me this. Why is it, on the one day of the year when we're actually allowed to be totally indulgent; when the spotlight is on us and our whole year of unmet consumer desires; when we know we've spent so much of the last twelve months fawning over stuff we want but can't afford, accumulating mental lists, anticipating; why is it, that in that crucial week leading up to our birthdays, when we are faced with that inevitable question, why can we never think of anything?!

WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY? Well, I've decided... Just slightly too late. Undoubtedly I'll forget by next year, so I'm letting you know now. (Maybe you can remind me? Or pick yourself up something nice?) The little mirrors are quite lovely. And the Belle & Boo prints. Vintage buttons for boys and girls? No kidding - they're adorable!

Okay, I have to stop now. This is harder than I thought. Fawn coasters! Oh god. I thought I was strong enough to write this, but...
