It's Vintage Darling is the Southside's latest (and arguably, much needed) contribution to boutique retro retail. A stone's throw away from Annerley's main op-shop drag, It's Vintage Darling is both a foolproof recipe for anyone new to the vintage game and a sophisticated alternative for veteran shoppers. An even spread of psychedelic maxi dresses, office-style blazers, chiffon skirts, bohemian crochet, summer frocks and disco attire ensures something for every taste, with each garment accompanied by a handwritten swingtag detailing its era of manufacture and modern-day size.
When it all gets to be too much, sink into one of the comfiest couches this side of the river, flip through a 1970s edition of Women's Weekly, and enjoy an organic coffee or two, freshly brewed in the store's kitchenette.
Gone are the days of gaping holes and suspect stains, sore feet and parched palates - this is vintage new school.
