Dogstar is an institution of the Elizabeth Street shopping precinct; existing long before the new wave of fashion boutiques shot up around it. Launched in 1998 by talented Brisbane designer Masayo Yasuki, Dogstar specialises in its own unique brand of elegant, structured fashion. For Winter 08 expect the interesting shapes and classic colours that the label is renowned for in a range of wraps, tunics, skirts and jackets. Add to the mix the Japanese-themed collection of clothing and accessories of their Laika by Dogstar range for everything from detailed print skirts and dresses to novelty aprons and tea-sets.
This is quality, locally-made clothing that lasts - unlike the increasingly disposable and seasonal wares found in most larger fashion retailers.
