Sometimes we wonder where all the menswear stores went. There used to be heaps of them but in recent years many of them have either gone co ed or worse: done the men's and ladies' for awhile and the dumped men's altogether.
At least Dirtbox in Broadway on the Mall is still kicking on though. An undisputed authority on men's fashion in Brisbane, the store has long been dancing a few steps ahead of the ‘what's hip now' baseline. They are renowned of late for their light wool tailored shorts and tie-with-shirt combos. Sharp.
Like fashion chopsui, Dirtbox mixes it up between Australian and international boutique labels. You can find stuff from Claude Maus, Trovata, Trimapee, Leopold, Who Am Eye, Saint Augustine Academy and Material Boy on the hangers and shelves.
There are some dedicated menswear stores around Brisbane, and the one with arguably the best no bullshit approach is Dirtbox. Plus it's been around longer than a bunch of them!
