Fourteen inch penises and philosophy; not your usual reading fare, but, then again Marquis de Sade's erotic classic is not your usual book. If you're looking for something saucy to read this week without breaking the bank (and without the moral guilt of taking that big hardback "photography" book to the bookshop counter), you could do far worse.

Concerning the thoroughly dirty deflowering of a young girl by three wealthy bisexual perverts, de Sade mixes descriptions of every sexual act under the sun with deep, philosophical discussions on the nature of such acts. But it’s not all bad; he sums it up with the general message ‘if it feels good, do it.’

Indeed. If you can ‘do it’, chase down the Penguin Classics deluxe edition, with a cover illustration by Tomer Hanuka.
