With the Hallmark day for love fast approaching it got me thinking, what is it that fills a love letter with the ‘ZaZaZu'? Other People's Love Letters is 150 texts, emails, letters, scrawls on pieces of crumpled paper, post it notes and telegrams all concerned with the complexities of modern relationships. Because lets be honest, today's relationships have a whole set of problems Keats never had to deal with.
Bill Shapiro is the editor in chief of this loved up project, whose fascination with love letters was ignited when he first read one that he was never meant to see. He became obsessed, not dissimilar to when two lovers lock eyes for the very first time. He began collecting, talking to exes, asking friends and then before he knew it a team of researchers had assembled and hundreds of love letters began flooding his letterbox, written by an assortment of people from helicopter pilots to children.
"P.S. I look forward to your letters too much to call. Also, where do you stand on chains?"
