There are so many fashion culture-led periodicals around that it truly does take something quite considered to cut through the sea of all of them. doingbird, published by local Photographer (my band mate and good friend) Max Doyle and Art Director Malcolm Watt, really accomplishes this. Ignoring any of my own involvement, it defiantly pulls together the best creative talent from around the globe.
With an approach that is driven by content, not unreasonable deadlines, the outcome never ceases to be anything but exceptional. Richard Prince, Helmut Lang, Katja Rahlwes, Roe Etheridge, Lee Ranaldo, Terry Richardson, Rachael Cassells, Ezra Petronio, Collier Schorr, Hedi Slimane, Richard Burbridge, Danko Steiner, Fergadelic etc, have all contributed, bringing together everything from poetry and prose to pictures of women's high heeled shoes. Perfect.
