I feel like this entire article needs a disclaimer. The information you are about to receive needs to be cherished. May I introduce 'The Lock Up' - my favorite new Valley drinking hole. For those of you over the age of 21, The Lock Up resides in the space that used to be Tabu but is more 'classy'. The entrance can be easily recognised by the hand drawn yellow cardboard sign that is positioned out the front every night by The Lock Up's loving owner Clive. Clive is the type of guy who is more myth than man. A faithless leader dressed in a Cosby sweater who will serve you the finest Riccadonna over ice, then pour himself one and pull up a pew.
The Lock Up has everything; free entry, friendly bar staff, a dance floor, a DJ. It also has several pool tables and a free standing television in the corner. However, The Lock Up is not for everyone; I have been there many times with many different groups of friends - some people love it and become instant regulars, others are immediately repelled by its charms. Said 'charms' are of the exposed flesh variety, but The Lock Up is definitely not a strip club. I feel the need to repeat myself, is NOT a strip club. However, from time to time a lovely lady, who may have had one or seven guava cruisers too many may show you what's under her top. It really is just the cherry on top of an already over flowing sundae.
