There is simply nothing you can’t do online these days. I’m looking forward to never having to leave my house ever again! Wait, that plan is ridiculously flawed – who’s going see my Note to Self jeans? I may have co-designed these babies online, but they deserve to be taken to the outside.
Max Olijnyk, the craftsman behind Note to Self was not your average kid. While most juveniles were trading fags for swigs of Spumanti behind the shelter sheds, Max was following the skater-trails of Matt Hensley and Guy Mariano. He spent just as much time recreating their (retrospectively perhaps too large) pants on his Mum’s sewing machine as he did ollying off three-inch gutters. These days Olijnyk is a grown man about Melbourne-town… (well if you can call makin’ jeans 'n' zines a grown-up job). Oh, and he just retired as a designer for Schwipe, but still can’t kick the skateboarding habit.
Back to the jeans, I don’t think I’ve stressed the sheer ability of Note to Self. You can get your name sewed on the back pocket and for the right price you can even have flying bats on the inside pockets if you like. Made from Japanese selvage and stretch denims (the best kind), Note to Self isn’t all about hidden pockets or extra room in the crotch – it's serious about quality. If you're just not that creative or patient (it takes around two weeks) a person, you can get a ready made pair right now at The Outpost.
P.S - this guy must be anal retentive because there isn’t a stich out of place.
