I still remember when I met my first Goths, I was about 16, which I think is surprisingly old. I kind of liked them, I mean they liked The Cure as well and they were more intelligent and had more interesting things to say than the surfer kids or the collection of skinny white guys who were really into hotting up their cars. But there never seemed to be that many around back then, sure you'd occasionally see some guy inexplicably wearing a black trench coat in the middle of summer but there was nothing like the hordes of kids outside Queen St Mall Hungry Jack's you get these days.

Let's face it there's a Goth revival going on, just like the 12th century, Goth is mainstream again. So get amongst it, UQ Art Museum is hosting a exhibition taking a peek into the noir underbelly of Australian culture as something decidedly dark manifests across art, fashion, film and literature.
Check it out - it's totally 'nu-grave' (now if only they made fluoro sweatbands in black...)
