There's a pigeon lady who lives across the road from my boyfriend's house. She's a genuine pigeon lady (perhaps Brisbane's only): sitting on her front porch with her walking frame and shawls; her flock of grey feathered children nesting peacefully around her.
Lost Pigeon is not the story of the one that got away (kind of like the Mormon or Amish teenager who escapes the compound). In fact, I'm fairly certain Adelaide label Lost Pigeon have no idea about Spring Hill's pigeon lady; but if they did, I know they'd appreciate her.
For now, Lost Pigeon is happy being a stylish, contemporary clothing and jewellery label, specialising in hip-as-hell wares for both men and women. "I named it after people who I thought looked like ‘lost pigeons'," laughs creator Yuri - though this sentiment is hardly mirrored in the bold confidence of the latest collection, fresh off the catwalks of Sydney Fashion Week.
If you're looking for more info on Lost Pigeon, it's best to just go straight to the site. A simple search on google (as soon I found out) will return you a myriad of information on actual lost pigeons, such as my personal favourite: I've found a pigeon... what should I do now?
You know, just in case.
