You know how they say ‘when one door closes another opens'... Well, it's certainly true of 102 Latrobe Tce. While some still mourn the loss of Hot Chocolate and those ridiculous milkshakes, we'd like to make very welcome Latrobe's newest resident, Kazuyo.

This quaint, discerning store houses the most remarkable collection of traditional and contemporary Japanese design. Kazuyo makes stunning bags and purses from vintage kimono fabrics as well stocking a variety of Japanese teas and china, and the shop also doubles as tea café where you can sample a range of Japanese teas and sweets. Set back from the street front, the store truly exudes that Japanese calm.

Kazuyo sources her vintage kimono fabrics from the bottoms of the drawers of friends and family in Japan as well as scouring Japanese second-hand shops. The concept came about after her mother was planning to throw out her old kimonos. Kazuyo came to the rescue and so came the revival of the kimono, in bag form.

A vist to Kazuyo's Collections is simply a must - you'll be so delighted by store's beauty and charm, it'll warm you to the core. Plus Kaz is probably the nicest woman you will ever meet.
