Nestled in the shade of a dozen leafy giants is a collection of tables and chairs. They form part of sanctuary of sorts, tucked neatly between city walls that adjoin a boutique cinema and nondescript retail. This touch of tranquility is the courtyard of Java Coast Café, one of Brisbane's most distinctive café experiences.
Java Coast is known for its excellent coffee, which compliments a comprehensive selection of salads, muffins, cakes and other delights. They also serve a concise, but certainly adequate array of teas and juices. Best yet, it’s affordable: pay between $2 and $3.50 for a coffee dine in and between $7 and $15 for food!
It's a shame that Java Coast is only open Monday to Friday, as this would be the ideal place to spend any quiet Sunday afternoon sporting a post-drunken-weekend-hangover. Actually, Java Coast is the ideal place to spend any amount of time, whenever you can.
