Books are hot again. Not that they ever really went out of style. Well at least not in our literature-thriving, culture-absorbed Brisbane anyway. Gold Coast folk may be waiting for the Yellow Pages to come out on DVD but here we appreciate a good read.
And Folio Books have offered Brisbane readers an extensive selection for 25 years. Everything from Photography to Philosophy, Science to Sex, they have done it with a genuine passion for books. But their range is extensive. You may want to sample from their Summer Reading Guide first.
Given how small the shop actually is, they manage to cram in hundreds of books. Literally floor to ceiling. But they make the ‘user experience' easier by have a logical progression of topics as you move about the store. They lay out the store so you can find anything, by topic, anywhere. We even saw Kevin Rudd perusing the Politics section once. True story!
