Even though it was cool having the Andy Warhol exhibition come to Brisbane earlier this year, in some ways it was really depressing. Because after checking out all of his films and collaborations we got a sense of how awesome it would have been to be a part of Warhol’s crazy crew back in the day, hanging out in The Factory listening to amazing bands and making art. Maybe we were pessimistic but it just seemed like nothing that groundbreaking ever happens anymore.
But then the 4C Arts Collective popped up out of nowhere and changed everything. They’re a new arts collective in Brisbane devoted to utilizing and promoting the talents of artists in myriad fields to create beautiful abstract events. And the thing they’re putting on this Saturday night at the Valley Studios might be the closest any of us get to an Andy Warhol Factory experience. Not only are there going to be heaps of live bands, DJ’s and circus performers, but there will be badge machines, paint and canvases for people to go nuts with. As if that wasn’t enough already, the whole thing is going to be raising money for the women’s legal service.
