Description:
You could be forgiven for thinking that an exhibition titled ‘Chick Chick Boom' was some kind of abstract artistic homage to that chick in Sydney who became famous for about two days too long last year. Fortunately for society at large, it's actually a new show at Joshua Levi Galleries dedicated to unearthing some of the best female emerging artists in Australia. In addition to talented chicks Febe Zylstra, Fiona Kennedy-Altoft, Emma Gale, Kitty Horton and Ellen Stapleton, this exhibition features the work of notable Brisbane artist Tracey Sheppard, whose lively portraits of young girls seem to burst from the canvas with a sense of the spectacular. - MW
