Music in Brisbane at the moment is all about Making Hey! Run by organisational whiz kid Dan Lewis, MH this week treats us to ‘Over Ambition #2': an avant-pop extravaganza featuring the debut Brisbane performance from Portland's Grouper (aka. Liz Harris), who's latest album Dragging a Dead Deer up a Hill earned her a sweet place in Pitchfork's Top 50 albums of ‘08. If Grouper's "darkly mesmerising folk dream pop whirlpool" isn't enough musical genius for you, local talents The Rational Academy and Melbourne soundscapist Ian Wadley will also be there to treat your ears. - TC
