Jack of all trades, master of none artist Matthew Johnson tries his hand at an intriguing variety of electronica mixed with ambient, breaks, noise, chillcore, and a whole bunch of stuff which no one in their right mind would attempt to define. The thing is though, it works... and quite well we might add. Shifting from Twilight Zone-esque soundscapes to Ratatat vs Monster Zoku Onsomb! style ditties, Aoi breaks the mould of the current raft of electronica acts emerging on the scene. The evening will be a night filled with original, somewhat groundbreaking material as the Melbourne lad teams up with local cutting-edge genre-defying maestro Lawrence English (the guy who runs the ::ROOM40:: events), so if you're feeling experimental, Ric's will provide the perfect midweek entertainment.
