It's pretty awesome to think that Brisbane the home to the Crown Prince of the Lenca people of the Enchanted Valley of Manguara Najochan. Guess what? I didn't make that up. The Enchanted Valley is actually a real place (it exists somewhere up in the highlands of eastern El Salvador) and the Lenca are actually real people (they have survived Spanish conquisadors and civil wars). It's ages away from Brisbane, but here is where this extraordinary man with his extraordinary title is just about to show his first ever art exhibition.

The man we're talking about is L. Antonio Chevez. Trust us, he's likely to be one of the more interesting people you'll meet this year. This decade even. Chevez was exiled from El Salvador years ago after working in the midst of civil conflict as a non-fiction writer, rural health worker and community worker.

‘Unbreakable Spirit' is an exhibition celebrating peace, freedom and solidarity through artwork that can only be described as ‘beautiful.' If that's turning you off because it sounds ‘new-age' or something just consider that Chevez' family bloodline can be traced back over 15,000 years. Once again, swear I didn't make that up.
