Brisbane-indie-artist-making-it-out-there Simon Degroot celebrates a string of solo and group shows in Sydney and Melbourne and three years running as an full-time artist by raising a glass and a self-published book of works called The Happy Mad.
“Many of the paintings in The Happy Mad are about spending time inside yourself and how sometimes there’s something, a bit like a screaming beast inside, that’s yearning to get out,” said Simon. “I think we all withdraw into our own worlds at times and find some madness inside that keeps things interesting. These works express some of that madness.”

Alongside the book he will also present (in conjunction with Frankie Magazine) an exhibition of the same name which will adorn the walls of Valley boutique Cylinder Clothing.
