For those in the dark, Semi-Permanent is a design event that happens once a year, in the form of a creativity fuelled conference dotted with special exhibtions and parties. Starting in Sydney, the event has now spread its wings to Perth and Auckland, NZ as well as couple of cameo appearances overseas. SP graced us for the first time last year and they have returned this year with a bang: bigger venue plus a hot local exhibition.
Remember the last time you were inspired? Well, I can guarantee the next time will be at SP. It's a sensory smorgasbord that attacks your visual and aural senses like never before. Your nostrils will flare, your heart will beat faster and your brain will probably spasm. This year features seven speakers from different pockets of the world, doing amazing works in illustration, photography, animation, publishing, art direction, paint and graphic design. The talent of these individuals is simply ridiculous! You must see it and hear it yourself to believe. Speaker line-up is: Ian Francis, XYZ studios, Wired Magazine, Tamara Dean and Dean Sewell, Timba Smits, Ron English and Toko.
Stay tuned for more info on exciting side events and the like, as well as some exclusive interviews with SP guest speakers. I can feel a brain buzz coming on.

FourThousand is a subcultural guide to Brisbane, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Brisbane writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence FourThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
