Run With Us is like running with the bulls: everyone for themselves! But you won’t be left face to face with a herd of severely agitated bovine, trapped in a confined space with equally confused art punters. But they will put you in front of an eclectic exhibition of works by six local artists, all with differing influences, mediums and styles.
There are the comic-esque black and white ink drawings of Murdoch Stafford and Mikel’s ironic punk music icons, set amongst the graf work of Luke Dyms and Ironlak spray paint backed Sofles, who has been tipped as the next big thing in street art.
Joel Birch’s approach sits at the intersection of graffiti and graphics. And then bridging the gap between caricature and graffiti is the lustrous illustrations of Elana Mullaly. Her works in watercolour, colour pencil, pen and ink and spray paint are delicate and dreamy.
The show is only open for a short period. Twenty hours or something. Opens Saturday night, open all day Sunday.
