Art school dropout? Not this time. Not with this bunch. Yup, it's that time of year again, where student's throw up their hands in hallelujah like motions and scream some indecipherable mumbo jumbo about "where am I going to get with this god-damned arts degree" while an academic in the corner promises the world to those dedicated enough. Mmmmm.
Queensland College of Art are hosting a slew of Grad shows that have already begun. Fine Art and Contemporary Indigenous Art offer sculpture, painting, prints, and jewellery. Photography ranges from commercial to conceptual. The real clincher though, is the Gas Award, held in the Dell Gallery over the uni holidays. Including the works of James Watts, Yuki Sakamoto, Nat Koyama, Ryan Presley, Alex Cuffe, and more. Get your art smock on and join in the festivities over the next couple of months!
