Ever wonder where your summers go? Do you sometimes get a little tired of acting the Henry Rollins, drinking black coffee/staring at the wall, working in air-conditioned interiors that only give you bad skin and a bit of a wheeze, having no break for the beach, or taking in a good ol' fashioned art show.

New Artist-Run-Initiative, The Wandering Room has come up with a solution to all of the aforementioned problems by hosting the event New Friday, turning Black Friday on its heels. Held at South Bank, in the thoroughfare adjoining one of Brisbane's most renowned French restaurants, Piaf (supposedly named after supreme Diva Edith), they're certainly lending a touch of decadence to this outdoor art event. New Friday features emerging and innovative artists including recent Fresh Cuts participant Eric Bridgeman, video works by Natasha Cordasic and Andrew Forsyth, sculpture by Nancy Stilianos and Madelin Bouwman, and sound/projection works by Chloe Cogle and Luke Walsh.

If you're looking to wine and dine whilst absorbing the alternate reality of the alternate reality of a South Bank you thought you knew, but really didn't care to look twice at, then head along this Friday night to catch something you never really expected.
