You know when you sometimes see that old lady on the bus who is just so indie cool but doesn't know it? Swept in overdone blush, juicy lipstick, layers of beads, and a two-piece suit that simply pops, she's clearly a woman of another era and keen not to give it up.
Sure, the first thing you're probably thinking is "crazy cat lady"; but just because she's not a 20-something waif doesn't make her getup any less stylish, does it? If my wardrobe was chocked full of genuine retro gems like that, I'd flaunt it too. (Even if it was just a trip to Woollies).
Thankfully, the kids at Advanced Style know how to respect the elderly, and it's not just by giving up their seat on the train. Their blog is all about delivering us proof that "personal style only advances with age," with a smorgasbord of pics of the most well-dressed, style-savvy, over-the-top, debonair and plain quirky in retiree fashion from all around the world. And you can even contribute! So next time you see that retro-goddess granny on the bus, why not help her with her shopping and take a cheeky camera phone snap while you're at it.
