Hate to go all David Atten-bro on you, but the earth really is an amazing place.  The new exhibition at QUT's Gardens Point gallery, Abstract Earth, is just one testament to this, with an array of stunning, soaring, aerial shots of our fine landscape; which, to the uninformed or far-off eye, present like incredible abstract paintings.

The collection is by Richard Woldendorp, Australia's foremost landscape photographer, who has been capturing the topography of our fine land for over four decades. Sixty of his photographs are on display at the gallery: a sumptuous array of striking aerial images, from the ochre-toned beauty of the top end to the ethereal whites of sandy dunes and coastal shores.

Even though I have already used over 14 adjectives in an attempt to describe this surreal visual experience, you must see it for yourself to really understand why it is worthy of every shift+F7 for ‘breathtaking' you can possibly think of.  This really is as far from your Year 10 Geography textbook cover as you can get.

PS - Don't forget, there's an accompanying book of Woldendorp's work for sale too.  The perfect coffee table stunner.
