This little(ish) ol’(ish) town(.. city) has produced some great music over the years, and still continues to.This event highlights some of the best in town with the launch of Before Hollywood’s Stranded compilation - three CDs of great Brisbane rock, pop and all that’s in between, “curated” through performances by The Rational Academy, Tragic/Athletic, Nova Scotia, Ambitious Lovers and Monster Monster.

With the release of their debut album Elephant Shell earlier this year, Canadian pop-rockers Tokyo Police Club hit Australia for a run of shows revolving around their Splendour In The Grass appearance. Their shimmering guitar pop has drawn comparisons to a few notable acts, but their sound is still unique and fresh enough to our ears, and it doesn’t reek of rip-off-ish-ness (yes… rip-off-ish-ness).
