Never in my experience as a sampler of the delights of postcode 4000 and beyond have I come across such cheer and good will. The Chelsea is seriously a very good place to eat, with the best coffee I've had in a long while.

The next time you think about saying, "Brisbane needs more culture", first ask yourself where Eritrea is? Stuck for the answer? Well, then it's you that needs some culture, my friend, and you can get some by visiting Mu'ooz Restaurant.
For the unacquainted, Eritrea is a West Africa country bordering Ethiopia and Sudan, and to get your cultural fix you're going to have to acquaint yourself with burgeoning Moorooka, aka ‘Little Africa'.
Kimchi House

This is the quote on the light-box greeting at Kimchi House - a tiny restaurant housed in one of Surfers Paradise's oldest alleys. The food here is decent to the Asian-savvy tongue: think slow-cooked meat, extra veggies with your veggies, and chilli which isn't white-boy weak.
Blowfly Bar and Restaurant
Sit down for a meal at Blowfly and you half expect to see John Williamson having a bit of a ‘rip, rip wood chip' in the corner. This little gem tucked modestly behind its white picket fence in Teneriffe is a breath of fresh air to the ‘BNE. The brains behind the establishment, Ben Howe and Nick Pinn, describe Blowfly as having "the simplicity and rawness of a woolshed and the comfort and warmth of the humble Queenslander".
