NineLives show. You know it'll be good. Need I explain? (really!) Ok, for all you fact-geeks out there: It's Brisbane-based artist Damien Matter's first solo show. His art is known to be intriguing, in a round-about Hitchcock way, it explores the depths if the human psyche. The illustrations are creepy.

Description:
It like the way NineLives know how to juxtapose; this week they have another two artists with way diverse practices: Nick is an illustrator who's work, just from looking at it, I would say takes a few cues from popular culture i.e - I'm guessing South Park? Very cheeky. Jared is a photographer who has taken it upon himself to make his lens a new limb, carrying his camera around pretty much everywhere for the last few years, capturing the rebellion and freedom of this crazy world.

OK, so - we did sort of mention this one in last week's issue, but blimey! It's so good, we're sending out some more tea and biccies to Beastman. Brad Eastman (get it - Beastman) is an artist, designer and photographer based in Sydney. Years of skateboarding has strongly influenced the beast-like characters in his work.

Description:
We had to give ourselves at least two shameless plugs. The first being the shop, now this... Beastman (Brad Eastman) is an artist, designer and photographer based in Sydney. Using acrylic and ink he produces intricately detailed artworks on canvas and wood, depicting a parallel world of scaly skinned, bold outlined, beast-like characters struggling to deal with feelings of anger, stress, jealousy, lust, confusion and paranoia.
Blading with Ness
Don't knock the fruit boots! Rollerblading is not back, but it did just get a little more respect.
Now, it might look not look like the most amazing sport and it generaly comes hand in hand with bad clothes - but there are a few exceptions to the rule... call her a get out of jail card free if you will, but our good friend Ness is one of these peeps who somehow helps blading look acceptable.
