The house sits towards the end of a quiet street, 10-minutes by train to the north west of central Brisbane. From the front, you can hear a few squawks and crashes - guitar fuzz, symbol hits - but the scene is mostly unassuming and boringly suburban.
It's not until I reach the rear of the house that I realise I have the right place.

FourThousand is a subcultural guide to Brisbane, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Brisbane writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence FourThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
