It always seems to be the way, doesn't it, that you encounter your penultimate Christmas dream gift just a little too late... I first met Hetty on December 26th - Boxing Day (cue frustration) - and it was love at first sight. There she was, sitting coquettishly on the pages of eBay, in amongst all the Hoovers and Dysons like a rose among weeds.

We whine when we have it, we whine when we don't. Oh, Betty Jo! With her charmingly-quirky designs gracing the pages of nearly every Australian fashion mag worth its name, it seems we just can't get enough of this Melbourne-based designer (real name Liz Jones, but don't tell anyone). Perhaps most famous for her handmade retro-look owl brooches, Miss Betty's jewellery really is the ultimate in creative, crafty, and cute-as-a-button (um, literally - as most of them utilise actual buttons to varying degrees).
