I overheard some boys talking about this film the other day and I couldn't help but be reminded of when I first heard little conversations about The Mighty Boosh or Tim and Eric. The film is so bad, its brilliant. Too complicated to explain in such a small snippet, just know The Room has a cult following and we here at FourThousand are presenting to you, good people of Brisbane for one big reason: it simply needs to be seen to be believed.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet's films are often called ‘whimsical', but there is nothing arbitrary or insubstantial about his impeccably filmed sight gags, eccentric characters and domino-effect setpieces. Micmacs references everything from '40s cinema to Toy Story, but its mischievous hilarity serves a very contemporary political satire.
Yeah yeah, I'm one of those people who devoured Stieg Larsson's trilogy of brutally violent blockbuster novels. They're clunkily written but full of compelling moral outrage and twist-laden plots. This Swedish-made film is a faithful, satisfying screen adaptation, much as I'd imagined it - right down to its rivers of filter coffee.
So many people must say to Tim Burton, "You should totally make a movie out of [insert colourful, absurdist text with childlike hero]!" Well, Alice In Wonderland is a very good impression of a Tim Burton film. The CGI-heavy product design looks an absolute treat, and Burton has fun with 3D technology, especially in the ‘down-the-rabbit-hole' scene.
Whether depicting Robert Altman's fondness for whorehouse blowjobs in Easy Riders, Raging Bulls or character assassinating Harvey Weinstein in Down and Dirty Pictures, Peter Biskind has a tendency for getting sued. Now he's readied his lawyers for the release of Star: The Life & Wild Times of Warren Beatty.
