Good people, I've got something to share with you. Now, it's something I've been thinking about and I'm ready to give this pearl or thought to the world. The thing is - it's not about whether you like rap or whether you like reggae - the question is: do you like to smile when you listen to new music? Do you like to walk down the street with a little smirk on your face, knowing that you've been just a little bit enlightened by hearing a piece of music that made you swagger (just a little) rather than just walk?

The Navy Birds make the kind of music that is neither rap nor reggae (OK, so it's a little bit reggae); neither pop nor rock - but it really doesn't matter if it makes you feel, right? And that people, is my point. The Navy Birds are a clever foursome that are a little bit reggae, a little bit jazz, a little bit funk, a little bit folk; but most importantly they've got the smile and swagger boxes ticked.

This debut EP encases four spirited songs that pack the punch into feeling deep, elated and masterful. Title track ‘Small Roads Out of Town' is cryptic ode to taking your own way outta town. ‘Long, Long Time' is a danceable number sure to induce the ‘swagger theory' and‘ Daddy's Coming Home' opens like a Dave Brubeck composition and builds into a brooding country number.

Get your swagger down to their EP launch this Saturday.
