With a whole stack of praise piled upon them, Brisbane popabilly five-piece Rocketsmiths have lived up to their status yet again as one of the city's finest acts with the release of their third, and perhaps finest, EP Parts, Pieces. This is modern rock n roll with solid hook and a whole heaping of tight musicianship tightly packed into one shiny, flat, metallic vessel of tuneful explosion.

After the rollercoaster ride of rock that was Meet Horace And Clyde EP, Rocketsmiths have made a follow-up record worthy of the grand prize (yes, even better than that giant gorilla!) and it is sure to help elevate them within the national scene. This is highly danceable waltz-ridden fun-fair rock that's been drinking out the back just that little bit too much, emerging as an exceptionally boisterous and energetic larrikin with a shade of aggressiveness within a flurry of guitars, voice, drums and keys for 21 exact minutes before passing out in a sudden inebriated plunge.

The Boy Who Cried Misery screams for some serious rocking out, The River will most likely instigate skank-offs, and Time Management Classes will get you standing straight and flapping your fringe about. The other three tracks will probably get you doing all of the above, plus singing along at the top of your lungs. Hell, they'll all make you do that. Incredibly fun.
