The cover art and the song names gave me a false impression. Sure I know who Major Major is and what their music sounds like, but with illustrations and titles like this, I expected some kind of grandiose wall-of-sound affair. But what would I know? First impressions don't really matter - they will always be overcome if there's some merit to the music produced. Thankfully Major Major's music is quite enjoyable, albeit a bit dry in parts, but their spirits are well and truly in every song.

Each of the four tracks rely on poppy, jangly guitars to create a light-hearted danceable sound, with the vocals flowing nicely over the top of the slightly muted instrument tracks. The drawn-back group sing-along toward the end of The Beast makes for a nice change in dynamic, while the remainder of the tracks share that similar straightforward guitar pop ethic. i'm sure these lads truly shine in the live arena (so don't miss 'em). Overall the EP is a swift, fun crack at getting listeners smiling and their toes tapping.
