Oooh, so broody, guys. This Melbourne three-piece knows how to furrow a brow and act detached, and they're currently doing just that across Europe, so their style must be paying off. Much in the same vein as Grafton Primary and She Wants Revenge, this group puts out dirty, nu-electro tunes with the understated panache of a despondent goth teen mumbling along to Depeche Mode remixes of Culture Club (if there were any, of course). On opening track Out Of The Ashes, there are traces of New Order (no seriously, the fills are direct copies of Blue Monday), while the rest of the album meddles about in a similar downcast fashion, except for the seemingly bubbly instrumental Double Dragon, which makes one's head bounce for the track's duration.

These guys have Out Run (the game) to thank, not only for the name, but also for the crunchy 8-bit influence. Oh, and also the late 80s-early 90s in general. It's not something that you haven't heard before, but it has that biting cynicism that will make it listenable for many. This style of music will be out of vogue soon enough, I'm sure, but it's still substantial enough to keep you interested.
