Designed by local BFA graduates Kelly Elkin and Betony Dircks (a.k.a. multitalented songstress-sensation Shiver Like Timber), this sassy street label "aims to merge conscientious fashion with artistic, challenging clothing." And it certainly does. With an explosion of vibrant colours, daring prints, creative shapes and a look that any fashionista would be salivating over, Two Beat Tremble proves fashion and ethics don't need to be mutually exclusive.
The girls believe in always using organic, sustainable fabrics, with a current preference for bamboo. "It's incredibly soft, breathable, cool in summer and warm in winter as well as naturally deodorising," says Betony. "Bamboo as a fibre source is natural, biodegradable and renewable."
And what to expect from their clothing? "Surprise pockets you never knew were there, bustle skirts made out of a t-shirt pattern, garments that can be worn in several ways... We are inspired by anything and everything, from 1930s designer Elsa Schiaparelli to the stirrup-pant leggings we wore when we were kids."
New stock will be hitting Violent Green and Ecume soon, but in the meantime check them out online or get in touch to buy directly.
