Millie Fairhall was the cool art-kid at school who you'd pay 20c to draw on your ruler - probably in hope you'd be able to sell it for millions one day. Nowadays, you'll be walking through the Valley Markets and pay her 10 times that for one of her uniquely styled items of clothing - probably in hope that you'll be seen just a touch cooler.
Millie is the creative force behind her art-based label Eillim Clothing. Her clothes are specifically designed to suit the gal that doesn't want her tee riding up while she's sailing on her skateboard, the girl who is bored senseless with her drab wardrobe, or someone who wants an offbeat-yet-personal look.
The clothing line stirs up "days gone by" while still expressing Millie's street-edged, socially deviant soul. High-waist skirts in soft, vintage denim alternate with raw graff tees, neon hoodies, purple vests covered in tiny owls and soft jumpers with stitched-on motifs. She makes DIY look pro and is the envy of all of us out there who've ever taken a pair of scissors or texta to that pretty 50c dress.
The designer/artist/surfer/skater/photographer/writer will be showing off her collection next Friday at the Curvy launch. Come down and check out her work. It's a bit genius.
