Be whisked away into a utopia of old-world glamour at Brisbane jeweler, Chelsea de Luca's new haunt on James Street. The first stand-alone boutique for the designer boasts beautiful French ironwork, tiny sparrows hiding in corners and mirror work that seem to come alive and twirl to the likes of Billie Holiday, Carla Bruni and Edith Piaf. Although the interior of the cottage will have you thinking you are somewhere on the 'Rue de Paris' it is the Swarovski crystal jewels that will have you squealing with delight.
Some may have been lucky enough to witness the designer's MBFF success, with ravens donning brooches and models dripping in sparkling creations inspired by who else, but Hitchcock. The creative genius responsible is the ever humble, softly spoken Chelsea De Luca.
Her penchant for the glitz and glamour of yesteryear is evident with designs oozing character like the 'Sinatra' bow tie neckpiece, 'Moment In Time' cocktail ring and the 'Triumphs and Tragedies' cluster brooch. Be sure to make a trip to 76 James Street for a dose of De Luca glamour, and her recently released 'Darkness Becomes Her' collection or visit her website.
