Yes another bookshop-café... it must be a trend or something. However, this trend sure doesn't offend at Riverbend (ha! a rhyme). So much more than just another award winning bookstore that boasts a minimal café. Oh no, Riverbend might well be winner of the Australian Independent Bookshop of the year for the past two years, but it's the Teahouse that's the winner to me.
With gourmet eats, teas, coffees and wines to rival any cookbook on their shelves, the obsession might begin with the famous rice-paper rolls, but it surely won't end there. You'll get hooked on the divine flower-bloom teas and the delectable lamb, eggplant and rocket salad. There are crazy loads of coffee and cake options to get your endorphins sailing and after you've satisfied your discerning tastebuds you can tuck your smart-pants in and browse the books or even sign yourself up for a sushi making class. Oh you're just too clever aren't you Riverbend.
