Huddled between one of Brisbane's busiest thoroughfares and one of Annerley's most uninspiring alleyways, Dudley Street Espresso and Collectables is a unique little café. Like the name suggests, this is the perfect spot for anyone who takes their macchiato with a side of retro, is into killing numerous birds with few stones, or simply thinks that pleasing two or more senses simultaneously (in this case sight and taste) is a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Dudley Street's owners hoard pre-loved collectables that sit perfectly at home among the café's few tables. It almost seems a shame to disturb anything, but everything is for sale and let's face it - if you're lucky enough to stumble over a 1950s Super Chef Mini Barbeque you should grab it with both hands.
Retro magazines are the perfect accompaniment to banana bread and coffee and there is nothing quite like contemplating art deco artefacts while enjoying a fresh sandwich (I recommend the roast beef - half with aioli, half with relish, cut down the middle - genius).
