Well, Desmonds' parked his barrow in Woolloongabba and Molly has given up on her idol auditions and putting her pretty face to good use, serving Genovese coffee with smile. But it's not just the coffee that has the café-goers talking about Desmond and Molly's digs - it's the homemade taste and the original touch that's keeping them coming back.

While it's not the most serene of locations, and the parking can be a challenge - this place is packed out on a Saturday morning and according to the grapevine, this is the case most days. Get in early to nab yourself a serve of homemade Greek meatballs, mouska or eggplant lasagne. If you're in the mood for a sandwich with a difference, look no further than the delectable selection of Turkish sandwiches: pepper-rolled pork belly with gorgonzola and fresh pear anyone?

As it happens, I took a pregnant friend along on my first trip to Desmond & Molly Jones, now this pregnant friend had a very serious craving for bacon, lots of bacon and a side of eggs - unfortunately Desmond & Molly aren't really into this, what some would call staple breakfast option - I've warned you - however, they do have the best-ever no fuss no muss Turkish toast and homemade jam, and they don't Scrooge McDuck out on the jam - in fact they'll give you a whole bloody jar as big as your head to contend with.

P.S - Bacon sorrows were soon soothed with peanut butter and chocolate muffin.

P.P.S - if you miss the homemade goodness of Yo Mama - well here's a bit of trivia for you: you'll find Yo Mama's good woman Christina at D&MJ...
