Believe it or not, Brisbane IS turning into one of those cities where a new bar opens up every weekend. To the point where there are so many new places to haunt, you're finding it hard to get there before all the other hipsters destroy it. Well, you heard it here first and you best get in quick; Canvas, the latest addition to the Logan Road precinct is helping bridge the gap between Brisbane and the rest of the world one provocative cocktail at a time.
At Canvas you'll sink into a deep leather chair, be soothed by the dim lighting and lulled by the cosy wooden timbre. You'll sample your way through Spanish ales, mulled wine and almost pharmaceutical cocktails. You'll have existential conversations, talk big schemes and dream-up your next overseas adventure, it's just that kind of place. The booze helps too.
Sample lush cheeses from the tasting menu and the Canvas dream will continue well into the night, long after Canvas closes it's doors and you're chin-high in blankees. I went from a Mrs Henricks cocktail and some creamy as hell goats cheese to having (read cheese dreaming) Alec Baldwin ride a magic carpet in an iPhone application. Wild times. Canvas = drinks and dreamboats.
